About The Position

The company is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Lead Estimator with extensive background in water and wastewater treatment plant projects. Based in the Cleveland, OH metro, this individual will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of estimate preparation and bid submissions. The Lead Estimator will oversee and perform professional estimating activities, ensure accuracy and competitiveness in project cost proposals, and manage the bid process for multiple projects simultaneously. This role reports directly to the Director of Preconstruction and indirectly to the Vice President of Preconstruction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management required.
  • Minimum 7 years of estimating experience in the construction industry, with demonstrated experience in water and wastewater treatment plant construction.
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, inEight, or Bid2Win.
  • Strong understanding of civil, mechanical, and process systems typical of water/wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation, coordination, and submission of estimates for water and wastewater treatment plant projects.
  • Oversee the entire bid process for multiple concurrent pursuits.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine scope and cost impacts.
  • Develop detailed quantity takeoffs, cost breakdowns, and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate subcontractor and vendor outreach, solicitation, and proposal review.
  • Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, and preconstruction teams.
  • Ensure estimating work aligns with company standards, client requirements, and safety expectations.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior estimating staff as needed.
  • Participate in strategy sessions, value engineering discussions, and proposal development efforts.
