About The Position

Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Equipment Specialist to join the MDC Business Operations team in Tukwila, WA. Position Responsibilities: Recognized as a job expert within the department/organization. Performs work with minimal direction and exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment. Effects of decisions are long-lasting and heavily influence the future course of the organization. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results may result in significant expenditure of company resources. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Requirements

  • Willingness/ability to work holidays and weekends as needed. Some flexibility with shift times will be required as well.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; customer-focused; presentation experience.
  • Minimum 3 years developing forecasts for Long Range Business Plans (LRBPs).
  • Minimum 3 years using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Minimum 5 years using project management tools/methods (e.g., MS Project, Milestones, OpenProject Professional, etc.).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.
  • “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
  • Experience leading/managing without influence
  • Experience utilizing process improvement and problem solving methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Maintain equipment lifecycle status across multiple sites.
  • Lead long-range equipment planning and develop LRBP forecasts.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal equipment service team for equipment status.
  • Report on equipment availability ensuring sufficient asset availability to service demand forecast (presenting to peers, executives, and or customers).
  • Lead Day 1 Production Area Readiness planning including proactive identification and allocation of Day 1 GSE based on projected delivery schedules.
  • Monitor delivery schedules and reassign GSE to prevent production disruptions.
  • End-to-end project management/support for site and equipment deliverables (scope, schedule, resources, risks, closeout).
  • Use project management tools to track milestones, escalate issues, and complete handovers.
