About The Position

This role oversees the production line, performs minor maintenance and troubleshooting, and drives efficiency in production line operations and setup.. The Production Lead drives the efficiency, quality, and team development during the Production Lead’s shift. Areas of oversight include goods production, equipment upkeep, CIP facilitation and production area organization. Secondary responsibilities include inbound/outbound freight support, shipping support, inventory oversight, and team training. This role is not a supporting role, it is a leadership role. This role helps grow organizational culture, employee development, production efficiency, quality control, and best practices. The production lead will manage alongside other production leads. While each lead specializes in overseeing one specific production line, the lead may help support production on any of our production lines.

Responsibilities

Buy-in and prioritization of Unique’s core values in the culture of the production team and in the way that the Production Lead coaches and supports the production shift.
Hands-on daily involvement in production and batching activities, not just oversight. The Production Lead will be working on the line with the team they manage 95% of the time
Ability to balance and drive efficiency and quality, so that one does not begin to negatively impact the other.
Updating and/or documenting the systems in place for the production process.
Comfortability to work with and solve issues that arise with production line equipment.
Becoming an expert on how to efficiently run all production line equipment in order to train up leads as questions and issues arise.
Bringing to the table systems and processes that can improve efficiency and quality.
Training and development of Production Team members on systems and best practices.
Ability to analyze and understand inventory trends, product velocities and organization’s seasonality of categories and divisions in order to maintain and understand appropriate inventory levels.
Ability to manage employee schedules and daily task schedules .
Management of workloads, breaks and teammate rotations to strengthen morale and maximize workplace safety.
Working with management to identify needed systems and processes to improve efficiencies and quality
Becoming an expert on production equipment.

Ability to turn up the tempo and urgency of the team if production quotas are not being met.
Involvement in the interviewing and hiring process for Production Specialists.
Drive efficient production processes during the Production Lead’s shift.
Oversee systems and best in class practices for maintaining high quality in product formulations and product aesthetics, with a constant focus on quality in light of increasing efficiency.
Coordinating replacement parts ordering and/or sourcing for production line equipment and will help other production leads maintain production line equipment and systems for preventative maintenance.
Work to build a strong culture and morale within the shift being managed.
Drive the team toward the organization’s vision, mission and core values and will seek to develop and bring out the talents in the teams they manage.
