We are currently seeking a Lead Epidemiologist to join our diverse and dynamic team. As a Lead Epidemiologist at ICON, you will play a pivotal role in designing and conducting epidemiological studies, analyzing data, and providing strategic insights to support the development and optimization of healthcare interventions and treatments.

Requirements

  • University degree in Outcomes Research, Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in epidemiological research, preferably in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of epidemiological study design, methodologies, and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency in statistical software such as SAS, R, or STATA, and familiarity with database management systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to critically evaluate and interpret complex epidemiological data.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and present findings to diverse audiences.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to quality, accuracy, and ethical conduct in epidemiological research and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the design, implementation, and analysis of epidemiological studies to evaluate the incidence, prevalence, risk factors, and outcomes of diseases and health-related events.
  • Developing study protocols, research methodologies, and data collection instruments to address specific research questions and objectives.
  • Analyzing and interpreting epidemiological data using statistical software and techniques to identify trends, patterns, and associations.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including researchers, clinicians, statisticians, and data scientists, to integrate epidemiological findings into clinical research and healthcare practice.
  • Communicating study findings, implications, and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders through written reports, presentations, and publications.
