About The Position

At UW Credit Union, the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) is crucial for executing strategic priorities and delivering outcomes for members, employees, and business partners. This role seeks an experienced Lead Enterprise Project Manager (internally known as Project Manager III) to lead the largest, most complex, and highest impact initiatives. This position extends beyond traditional project management, requiring leadership of complex projects from initiation through implementation, as well as managing initiatives with multiple interconnected workstreams, cross-functional teams, phased deliverables, vendor relationships, and significant organizational change. It is ideal for someone who can coordinate broader programs or enterprise initiatives with many moving parts. The Lead Enterprise Project Manager will act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to leaders across the organization, collaborating with executive sponsors, business leaders, technology teams, vendors, and project team members. The goal is to ensure alignment, remove barriers, manage risk, and progress work toward intended outcomes. Success demands strong project management expertise, excellent communication and facilitation skills, emotional intelligence, business acumen, and the ability to influence without direct authority. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with ambiguity, balancing competing priorities, and leading teams through change. They must possess a strong understanding of project and program management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid approaches, and know how to apply the appropriate methodology based on the work being delivered.

Requirements

  • 6 years+ project management experience leading complex initiatives across multiple business areas.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience managing programs, portfolios, or large scale projects with multiple workstreams and cross functional dependencies.
  • Experience using Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, resources, timelines, risks, and vendor relationships.
  • Experience partnering with executive leaders, business teams, and technical teams to drive alignment and decision making.
  • Strong business analysis, process improvement, and change management experience.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and lead through complexity.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and project management platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Agile certification such as Scrum Alliance or Scrum.org.
  • Experience within financial services, banking, credit union, or highly regulated industries.
  • Experience leading enterprise programs with multiple simultaneous workstreams, phased implementations, or organization wide impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large, complex, cross functional projects and programs from initiation through implementation.
  • Manage enterprise initiatives that may include multiple workstreams, dependencies, vendors, teams, and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, resource plans, risk logs, communication plans, and change management plans.
  • Partner with project sponsors, business leaders, and technology teams to define scope, priorities, success measures, and outcomes.
  • Facilitate project meetings, decision making, issue resolution, and stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project status and provide clear, concise updates to executive leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Determine and apply the appropriate project management approach, including Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies.
  • Coordinate across multiple teams and workstreams to manage interdependencies, risks, competing priorities, and resource constraints.
  • Lead efforts related to organizational change management, communication planning, training, and implementation readiness.
  • Support business analysis activities such as documenting requirements, process mapping, future state design, testing coordination, and user acceptance testing.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization and influence without direct authority.
  • Mentor junior project managers and contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the EPMO.
