Summary of Position: We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer at our Beech Island, SC Facility. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Paper Science from an accredited college or university.
  • 3+ years of experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments in a manufacturing or R&E environment.
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently, or as part of a team while providing task-oriented direction to others in order to complete projects within required timeframes.
  • Experience using manufacturing analysis tools, such as: statistical process control, design of experiments, process capability studies, Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines. Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel.
  • Drive improvement in speed, waste and delay per asset objectives.
  • Ensure conformance to FPS, review results and initiates programs to reduce variability to meet quality scorecard metrics.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities and manage expense spending to unit budget limits
  • Lead and support the operations teams in trouble shooting.
  • Effectively interface with inter-plant departments, staff LCM Process team, Research and Capital Execution teams.
  • Develop knowledge and skills in leadership of the application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, and project management.
  • Identify complex technical issues and provide necessary solutions to determine root cause.
