About The Position

The Lead Engineer in Electronic Hardware provides support for the Parts Services organization. Assemblies falling under the purview of the Electronic The Lead Engineer - Electronic Hardware provides support for the Parts Services organization. Assemblies falling under the purview of the Electronic Components team include Printed Circuit Board and Electronics Chassis Assemblies and all components used within. These components include Semiconductor Devices consisting of Programmed Logic, Memory, Analog to Digital Converters, Digital to Analog Converts, Logic, Op Amps, Diodes and Passive Devices including Resistors, Capacitors, Inductors, etc. The Lead Engineer provides support required for manufacturing and refurbishment of electronic assemblies for GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics from an accredited university or college and at least 6 years of experience in the electronics field OR an Associate’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college and at least 8 years of experience in the electronics field.
  • The work location for this role is at the GVH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read electronic schematics and analyze circuits.
  • Experienced in evaluating manufacturer datasheets to evaluate if components are equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Analog and Digital circuit design.
  • Knowledge of electronic parts procurement and commercial grade dedication process.
  • Experience with design and manufacturing processes used for electronic assemblies.
  • Experience with Qualification of 1E electrical equipment.
  • Experience with equipment qualification [environmental, seismic, embedded digital] testing to diverse industry standards [e.g., IEEE, IEC, ASME].
  • Clear thinker, detail oriented, insightful, quantitative, results oriented – Able to make reasoned, sound, and timely decisions.
  • Exceptional technical writing.
  • Strong verbal communication and facilitating skills for technical and business audiences.
  • Able and willing to take ownership and responsibility for scoping, planning, prioritizing, scheduling, budgeting, action tracking, monitoring, corrective actions, reporting, etc.
  • Team player with cross- discipline and matrixed functional skills and experience.
  • Able to handle multiple concurrent assignments and priorities.
  • Adaptive with continuous learning and improvement “mindset” with an ability to identify, influence, and implement better ways to do an activity or process.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing on-going support during the manufacture or refurbishment of electronic assemblies including addressing obsolescence issues and updating drawings, specifications and schematic drawings.
  • Demonstrates accountability for cost, schedule, quality, and technical accuracy of assigned tasks.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership, provide mentorship through verification and peer review activities.
  • Perform evaluations of analytical and experimental issues electrical parts dedication testing.
  • Support BWR multi-business new product development, obsolescence resolution research, and emergent power plant issues.
  • Support and perform technical analyses, evaluations, verifications, NCR resolutions and deviation dispositions.
  • Support quality requirements defined in policies and procedures.
  • Establish productive working relationships with product and project management, support functions, and suppliers.
  • Support LEAN, continuous process improvement, and cost-out programs.

  • For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $164,000.00.
  • The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
