Serving both original equipment manufacturers and aftermarket customers, Unison designs, manufactures and supplies the most advanced components and systems in the world. As a Lead Electronic Hardware Engineer, you will drive the design, development, and technical improvement of electronic products, solutions, and systems, including enhancements to existing components. You will plan and execute critical engineering activities that directly impact departmental operations and program outcomes. While the role operates within an established discipline and standard functional practices, you will exercise engineering judgment in solving problems and making design decisions, typically with guidance on more complex or unprecedented issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 years of experience in Engineering).
  • Minimum of 3 years of Engineering experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong expertise in power electronics and motor control, including analog, digital, and mixed-signal design.
  • Hands-on semiconductor design experience, ideally with HMOS/MOS/CMOS, PLLs, ADCs, and DACs.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to debugging and design refinement.
  • Quality- and safety-minded, with disciplined engineering practices and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative and clear communicator, effective in cross-functional team environments.
  • Proactive, accountable, and willing to mentor others, demonstrating ownership and informal leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Own semiconductor and hardware design for electronic parts, components, and integrated circuitry, with a primary focus on power electronics and motor control for electronic equipment and hardware systems.
  • Define design approaches and parameters, analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results to drive robust, high-quality hardware designs.
  • Apply expertise across analog, digital, and mixed-signal domains, leveraging skills in HMOS/MOS/CMOS, PLL, ADC, DAC and related technologies to develop and optimize circuit solutions.
  • Develop deep technical expertise in your discipline and use technical judgment to help execute engineering policies, standards, and strategy.
  • Use strong business and systems understanding to align design decisions with key program and business drivers, and ensure your team’s work effectively integrates with other engineering and cross-functional teams.
  • Exercise sound engineering judgment to propose solutions, including options outside of predefined parameters, typically with guidance on more complex or novel issues.
  • Leverage analytical thinking and internal networks to solve problems, drawing on prior experience, on-the-job learning, and collaboration with experts across the organization.
  • Operate as a senior individual contributor, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills, providing informal technical guidance and mentorship to newer team members, and contributing to hiring and talent development.
