About The Position

Lead complex design and development activities of engines for new product introductions and other product improvements. Create new designs while leading and mentoring other design engineers on programs. Design and develop new engine components and systems and solve design-related problems, including: Create system and component technical requirements for complex design activities while working in a cross-functional development team. Lead the 3D and 2D design and development of complex systems, large castings, forgings, machined components, and metal fabrications including the definition of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ECO release. Perform engineering studies and calculations to define the requirements for virtual and physical validation of designs. Lead cross functional development teams, including leadership of design reviews. Procure prototype hardware for design validation, product launch, and trouble-shooting production and field service issues. Provide technical engineering support to other functional areas as required, including other engineering teams, manufacturing, purchasing, application engineering, marketing, service, contracted engineering consultants, and suppliers. Lead the creation and continuous improvement of design practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design Technology, or related field and 8 years of progressively responsible post-bachelor’s degree experience in a related Mechanical Design Engineering occupation required.
  • 6 years experience working with CAD systems
  • 6 years experience working with PLM systems
  • 2 years mechanical design experience with components and systems of reciprocating internal combustion engines or engine-driven packaged equipment
  • 2 years experience with GD&T and tolerance calculations in the development process
  • 2 years experience with materials, manufacturing and assembly processes, including experience working with the associated functional organizations.
  • 10% travel required to INNIO or client sites in the U.S. or Canada to support manufacturing design processes.
  • Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report/appear into/at the INNIO Waukesha Gas Engines Inc. office in Waukesha, WI.
  • INNIO Waukesha Gas Engines Inc. will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.
