Overview: Lead Energy Modeler will assist Energy Modeling Manager with reviewing the output Energy Modelers. Create detailed design drawings using CAD software and perform energy modeling analysis for residential structures using whole building analysis programs such as Ekotrope, and EnergyPro. The Lead Energy Modeler will train and will work closely with other members of the design team to produce accurate, high-quality designs that meet the needs of the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required o Architectural, Drafting, Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • HERS Rater, Energy Star, DOE, Multifamily and Commercial Certification
  • 4+ years of related work experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory/leadership experience
  • 4+ Years Construction Knowledge
  • Experienced in communicating effectively with a variety of audiences, including customers, clients, and colleagues.
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment (internal and external clients!).
  • A self-starter with the ability to make sound decisions based on independent judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Commitment to maintaining certifications and staying up to date on industry advancements.
  • The ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Modelers and Raters including coordination of workflow.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and training to other CAD personnel.
  • Own the process of coordinating and finalizing regulatory and compliance documents.
  • Remain informed of the latest software updates and modeling techniques.
  • Mentor other members of the CAD team on modeling, dimensioning, and tolerancing techniques.
  • Coordinate the documentation of new product development through conception, design and layout, certification, pilots and full production under guidance from the Energy Modeling Manager.
  • Work with other departments as necessary to accomplish documentation in accordance with project schedules.
  • Supervise the pilots and initial production runs for verification of drawings and ratings.
  • Develop assembly drawings for complex assemblies with multi-layered bills of materials utilizing CAD software.
  • Define scope, assignments and deliverables that support goals in collaboration with senior management.
  • Set and continually manage certificate expectations with team members and other departments.
  • Process Change Requests/Revisions in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure CAD attributes are accurate and maintained in system.
  • Has a clear understanding of policies and procedures within the department.
  • Provides documentation support to other departments such as marketing, sales and or engineering as required.
  • Assist sales with new product conception, design, and layout utilizing good verbal and organizational skills with no supervision.
  • Assist in buildup of prototype during pre-construction stage of project.
  • Recommend procedural changes within the department to facilitate productivity and consistency.
  • Serve as a liaison with other departments as necessary to formulate these changes.
  • Develop skills in personnel management and problem solving.
  • Understands and demonstrates safety policies and procedures.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
