About The Position

This full-time position is responsible for supervision and team success of Employment Specialists and Job Coaches in Orange Grove's Supported Employment Services. Other duties include, but are not limited to: Oversight and evaluation of Employment Specialists and Job Coaches • Monitor progress and achievement of departmental goals in Exploration and Discovery, job development and successful placement and identify opportunities for use of enabling technologies for integrated and supported employment. • Actively prospect and develop relationships with potential new and existing community employment partners. • Provide a source of awareness to employers and coworkers on the productive and positive qualities of people with disabilities. • Develop and secure employment opportunities for persons-supported that are consistent with the interests and qualifications of the individual. Transport and provide hands-on job coaching for persons supported as needed. Assure and monitor completion oflntegrated Work Site Assessments, Vocational Adjustment Services, Job Readiness/Job Placement services, Supported Employment Job Coaching, Non­supported Employment Job Coaching services and Supported Employment services. Work with individuals, families, case managers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful intakes, assessment, placements, follow-along, and billing transactions. • Continue professional development by attending trainings and conferences, both local and regionally as assigned. • Complete necessary paperwork and reports to fulfill all Orange Grove, State and Federal requirements. Reports directly to the Coordinator of Supported Employment services. Supervises all Employment Specialists and Job Coach(s).

Requirements

  • All Vocational Rehabilitation services require a minimum of at least six ( 6) months experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • A Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) from an accredited college or university and written verifiable documentation of one ( 1) year of experience delivering employment services; OR an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university or a high school diploma or High School Equivalency (HiSet) general equivalency diploma (GED) and written documentation of two (2) years of experience in delivering employment related services.
  • A Bachelor's Degree (Master's degree preferred) from an accredited college or university and written verifiable documentation of one (1) year of successful work experience in delivering employment related services OR an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and written verifiable documentation of two (2) years of successful work experience in delivering employment related services.
  • In addition to the education and work experience, the SE Professional Employment Specialist must have a training certificate from a state or nationally recognized employment program on Supported Employment. The Supported Employment Specialist certificate is to be obtained within twelve (12) months of the individual being designated to provide services as a Supported Employment Specialist. Examples include the Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP)certification through APSE; a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) certification; or the completion of Association of Certified Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) training programs.
  • Also, prior to providing services, the Employment Specialist is required to complete the Orientation to VR Training conducted by UT CLEE.
  • In addition, must complete the Job Coach training curriculum in Relias and other training programs as required.
  • Must be capable of working within the guidelines of Tennessee Division of Rehabilitation Services, Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging (DDA) and Orange Grove Center.
  • Should be comfortable with computer technology and competent with MS Office applications.
  • Good overall physical health and personal stamina.
  • Physical examination, including TB skin test or chest x-rays are required prior to employment.
