About The Position

A leading marine technology and safety systems company is seeking an experienced Electronics/Electrical Service Technician to support installation, troubleshooting, and field service of critical onboard equipment used on commercial vessels, barges, and marine facilities. This is a hands-on role supporting advanced monitoring, alarm, sensor, and control systems that are essential to safe and compliant marine operations. The ideal candidate is a strong troubleshooter who thrives in field environments, can respond to customer needs on short notice, and enjoys solving technical challenges under real-world conditions. The Electronics/Electrical Service Technician performs installation, repair, testing, and calibration of marine electronic and electrical systems. This role requires 24/7 on-call availability during rotation , the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in the field, and direct interaction with vessel crews and operations personnel.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in electronics, electrical systems, instrumentation, automation, or marine controls.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability with sensors, alarms, wiring, control circuits, or measurement equipment.
  • Comfortable working on marine vessels, terminals, or industrial sites.
  • Ability to work on-call and travel on short notice.
  • Proficient in reading wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Valid driver’s license; able to pass required screenings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience servicing electronics or instrumentation in marine environments (barges, tankers, towboats, etc.).
  • Background with tank-level measurement systems, alarm panels, or monitoring/control equipment.
  • Familiarity with basic networking or communication protocols used in electronic systems.
  • Prior field service experience in industrial, marine, or offshore settings.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electronic sensors, alarm systems, monitoring equipment, and control electronics used onboard marine vessels.
  • Troubleshoot wiring issues, component failures, communication errors, and system-level faults.
  • Conduct field service calls for emergency and scheduled maintenance.
  • Travel to customer sites including vessels, terminals, and shipyards.
  • Perform calibration, testing, and verification of measurement and monitoring systems.
  • Use diagnostic tools, meters, and software interfaces to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, layouts, and technical documentation.
  • Support integration of electronic control modules and data/communication hardware.
  • Communicate clearly with vessel crews and operations teams to understand issues and deliver solutions.
  • Document service reports, parts usage, system readings, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain a professional, safety-oriented presence while representing the service team.
  • Follow all marine and industrial safety protocols while working on vessels and in hazardous environments.
  • Ensure all installations meet required standards and specifications.
