About The Position

Zipline is the world’s largest and most experienced drone delivery service, on a mission to serve all humans equally by ensuring access to food, medicine and essential goods anytime, anywhere. They design, build, and operate the world’s largest autonomous logistics system, delivering critical supplies quickly and reliably. Zipline operates on four continents, makes a delivery every 30 seconds, and has completed millions of deliveries including blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products. Their system strengthens supply chains, reduces congestion, and gives people time back, with over 140 million commercial autonomous miles safely flown. The company seeks practical problem solvers who thrive on real-world challenges and rapid growth, motivated by building systems that have a direct, meaningful impact on people’s lives. The Flight Test team is responsible for testing new and existing systems to ensure safety and reliability. This involves preflighting and launching aircraft, performing repair and maintenance on aircraft and ground systems, and conducting tests on new hardware and software. The team conducts scaled operations at a primary test facility and targeted testing at several other locations in Northern California. You will be the point of contact for all electrical site infrastructure, including upgrades, repairs, maintenance activities, renovations, and vendor oversight at Zipline’s flight test locations. Based out of Zipline’s primary test facility, you will support several other small-scale test locations throughout the Northern California region with intermittent travel to other sites. You will perform electrical installation, construction, and upgrade works personally in accordance with all relevant standards and codes, and manage subcontractors performing similar works to ensure high standards for quality, cost, and workmanship. Additionally, you will conduct regular inspections to identify potential maintenance needs and recommend necessary improvements. You will partner with internal engineering teams, providing feedback on Zipline’s electrical approaches. You will also be responsible for general ownership of the electrical infrastructure at test sites, maintaining up-to-date electrical single line diagrams and as-built documentation, and owning general electrical operations and safety processes and associated internal workflows. Your work will directly affect Zipline’s ability to improve and expand its service globally.
