About The Position

Drive quality for assigned suppliers, including quality plan implementation. Select suppliers through qualification processes. Own supplier results, drive improvements utilizing supplier scorecards. Own supplier audits, ensuring compliance, and driving improvement plans where needed. In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Supplier Quality Assurance & Development Lead supplier qualification, approval, and requalification activities, including audits, action plans, and performance monitoring. Develop, deploy, and track supplier improvement plans aligned with industrial standards of excellence. Support suppliers in Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes, including root cause analysis and effectiveness verification. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using FMEAs, control plans, and process capability assessments. Build and implement robust solutions for non-conformances, coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and field teams. Technical & Engineering Interface Apply strong technical understanding of transformer design, manufacturing, and testing to assess supplier capability and resolve quality issues. Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards related to transformers and associated components. Act as a technical liaison between suppliers, internal engineering teams, field service, and customers. Provide quality and technical support for field issues, customer complaints, and service-related quality events. Project & Operational Impact Impact projects, processes, and procedures within the supplier quality discipline by applying professional judgment and technical expertise. Operate with a level of autonomy while executing activities within established functional practices, procedures, and quality systems. Support cross-functional teams in resolving supplier-related risks affecting delivery, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction. Work closely with customers, project managers and suppliers to manage and drive closure of open quality actions (punch list) from customer sites, field services activities and customer inspections. Act as the focal point to track, follow up, and close supplier and site quality action items impacting project execution and delivery. Collaboration & Communication Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding supplier quality performance, risks, and improvement actions. Explain complex technical and quality-related information in a clear and structured manner to non-specialist audiences. Provide informal guidance and technical mentoring to less experienced team members when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Systems or related field).
  • Experience with transformers and electric panels.
  • Proven experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer, Quality Engineer, or similar role in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of transformers, including manufacturing processes, components, and quality requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Experience with supplier audits, CAPA, FMEA, and performance monitoring.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound technical judgment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work remotely, with flexibility to support field and customer-facing activities as required up to 80% possible.
