As a member of the Environmental, Health and Safety team, you will be an active contributor to the Parsippany, NJ manufacturing location. In this role you will work together with the EHS Leader to integrate EHS programs into daily operations to assure regulatory compliance and achieve continuous performance improvement, while meeting EHS performance objectives. In partnership with cross-functional departments, work to develop programs and objectives to achieve these goals in alignment with business goals and values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing, chemical, or industrial environment
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, NFPA regulations – process safety management knowledge and experience preferred
  • Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting
  • Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc.
  • Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation
  • Occasional need to reach and/or work above and below the shoulder
  • Must be alert to equipment in the field
  • Occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery
  • Occasional need to walk on uneven ground

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Implement business Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs as required in partnership with the EHS Leader for the Parsippany, NJ site and cross-functional teams within Metem and business teams within Global Supply Chain.
  • Prepare regulatory reports and conduct environmental, health and safety inspections.
  • Together with cross-functional members, lead the validation of health, safety and environmental Frameworks in Gensuite to imbed EHS procedures into the site culture
  • Work together with operations and maintenance to ensure implementation of contractor safety screening management program (ComplyWorks) and daily coordination of contractor safety permits and job safety analyses (JSA) and point of work risk assessments (POWRA).
  • Drive improvements in site EHS culture, awareness, and accountability and embrace and utilize Lean methodology to drive sustainable EHS improvements
  • Work with the cross-functional teams to operationalize the Life Saving Rules (LSR) within the organization
  • Training management for delivery of trainings and record management at the Parsippany, NJ site
  • Perform site audits, JSA’s and complete hazard risk assessments and work with management team to implement corrective actions
  • Conduct incident / accident investigations and develop corrective and preventative action plans through robust root cause analyses (5-whys and/or 8D methodology).
  • Actively contribute to procedure updates and execute site EHS programs including, but not limited to, LOTO; Crane safety; Ergonomics; and the Industrial Hygiene Program (including hearing conservation and monitoring, Qualitative Site assessments and Respiratory protection).
  • Provide tactical issue resolutions and training at the facility level.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
