About The Position

At Pierce Manufacturing, we build trucks that protect people and communities around the world. To our team, there is no room for anything less than providing the absolute best. Since 1913, building truck bodies on Model T Ford chassis in an old converted church has evolved to creating highly customized, carefully designed and engineering pumpers, aerials, tankers and rescue units that have no equal. Today, you'll find more than 30,000 Pierce apparatuses on the road that are making a difference in people's lives, every day. To us, every step in the process of building our trucks is personal. From innovation and expertise, to the customization and service. Our trucks are designed to perform under the toughest conditions. The Lead DT Systems Analyst will drive Industry 4.0 adoption across the Oshkosh Vocational segment by leading the design, deployment, and sustainment of SCADA and MES solutions that enable our manufacturing facilities to operate smarter, faster, and more efficiently. As the Vocational segment expands, this role ensures digital manufacturing systems are scalable, secure, and seamlessly integrated into Oshkosh's growing digital ecosystem, while promoting standardization and reusability across sites. YOUR IMPACT These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned:

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in SCADA/MES development, integration, or support within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven expertise with one or more SCADA/MES platforms (e.g., Ignition, Aveva/Wonderware, Rockwell FactoryTalk, or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead deployments, upgrades, troubleshooting, and ITSM/ITIL-based operational support.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including experience mentoring peers and partnering with plant stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading enterprise-level MES or SCADA deployments across multiple manufacturing sites (preferably using Ignition).
  • Experience with industrial DataOps platforms such as HighByte Intelligence Hub, enabling normalized data flow between OT and IT systems.
  • Proficiency with Python and SQL for data processing, automation, or analytics integration.
  • Familiarity with database administration (backups, indexing, performance tuning) and historian data management.
  • Working knowledge of OT networking concepts (VLANs, subnets, firewalls, routing) and cybersecurity practices in industrial environments.
  • Experience developing solutions aligned with ISA-95 and Industry 4.0 frameworks, ensuring scalability and interoperability.
  • Exposure to cloud-based and edge-computing architectures supporting distributed industrial systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead SCADA/MES Delivery: Lead configuration and development of SCADA/MES solutions to enhance visibility, throughput, and efficiency across the Vocational segment's manufacturing network.
  • Drive OT/IT Integration: Define and implement integration patterns using industrial protocols (MQTT, OPC-UA) and APIs (REST) to ensure seamless interoperability within Oshkosh's digital ecosystem.
  • Run Multi-Site Deployments: Plan and execute new site implementations, upgrades, and migrations, including release planning, validation testing, cutover, and rollback strategies.
  • Own Escalations and Reliability: Serve as the primary escalation point for complex incidents, drive root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve system stability and performance.
  • Enable Data-Driven Operations: Develop and govern dashboards, reports, and operational insights that support production leadership and frontline teams in real time.
  • Establish Standards and Reuse: Create and maintain templates, configuration standards, and reusable components to accelerate delivery and improve consistency across sites.
  • Provide Technical Leadership: Mentor analysts and partners on SCADA/MES tools, integration strategies, testing practices, and Industry 4.0 technologies aligned with ISA-95.
  • Champion Security and Resilience: Apply best practices for network configuration, data integrity, and cybersecurity to safeguard mission-critical manufacturing systems.
