Leidos is seeking a Lead Distribution Engineer in the Framingham, MA area who is passionate about electric utility design engineering. We’re looking for someone who is dedicated to ensuring that every project, no matter how simple or complex, is of exceptional quality. You'll be working directly with clients to make sure that Leidos' reputation for high-quality work is always maintained. If you join us in this role, you'll gain expertise in a variety of areas, including NESC, Structural Pole Modeling, Electrical Power Calculations, GIS design training, Field Data Collection, and Client Design Standards. Your greatest work is ahead! This position is hybrid in nature, where 3 days/week are spent working in our office, collaborating with internal teams, and 2 days/week can be spent working remotely. As a Lead Distribution Engineer, you can expect to: Lead the development of electrical distribution work packages; Perform engineering design and analysis; potentially work on programmatic/ capital/ reliability design (i.e. 3rd party attachment/ Make Ready, overloaded transformers, reconductor, voltage conversion, DG, FLISR, underground, etc. designs) Be responsible for QAQC tasks on your assigned team; You will play a role in quality reviews of your team's designs prior to submittals for client projects Review engineering design packages with clients; Review and organize existing program work Perform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence to advocate client priorities Interact directly with clients on a frequent, as-needed basis Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met. Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements; Assist with work permit development, easements, and ROW applications Be comfortable in both a field and office setting; the role could possibly require some customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packages In the future, you can expect to play a role in the hiring process for the future of your team At Leidos , we pride ourselves on being a trusted and technology-focused solutions provider.
