About The Position

Affinity Dental Management is a dentist-run, provider-led Dental Support Organization supporting practices across New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Vermont. We pair clinical autonomy with modern systems, advanced technology, and strong operational support, so our providers can focus on what matters most: exceptional patient care. We are currently seeking a Lead Dentist to serve as the senior clinical authority within the practice, driving complex diagnosis and treatment planning, expanding advanced service offerings, and mentoring clinical teams. The Lead Dentist is responsible for advanced diagnostic, surgical, restorative, and interdisciplinary treatment planning functions. This role supports complex case management, evidence-based clinical protocols, and oversight of high-acuity procedures and care pathways.

Requirements

  • DDS or DMD (or foreign equivalent) from an accredited institution
  • Active New York State Dental License
  • Must be currently enrolled as a Medicaid provider in New York
  • DEA registration
  • Completion of advanced clinical training/residency or equivalent specialization if applicable
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a high-volume general dentistry setting (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in high-volume, multi-provider environments
  • Prior clinical leadership, mentoring, or academic teaching experience
  • English/Spanish bilingual proficiency (a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive oral evaluations and interpret radiographic, CBCT, and digital imaging.
  • Develop complex multi-phase treatment plans across restorative reconstruction, implantology, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontic considerations.
  • Manage medically compromised patients requiring interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Utilize advanced biomaterials and digital dentistry systems (CAD/CAM, guided surgery, digital workflows).
  • Provide advanced procedures including (as appropriate to scope and case mix): surgical extractions, implant restoration, bone grafting/ridge augmentation, full-mouth rehabilitation, and cosmetic/esthetic reconstruction.
  • Implement evidence-based clinical protocols aligned with current standards of care.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support associate dentists and hygienists.
  • Review/approve complex treatment plans and contribute to quality assurance benchmarks.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and applicable state regulatory standards.
  • Evaluate treatment trends and collaborate on workflows to improve efficiency and outcomes.
  • Partner with leadership on clinical technology adoption (e.g., CBCT, scanners, digital systems).
  • Participate in provider onboarding and clinical competency assessment.
  • Provide in-depth consultations for complex procedures and treatment options.
  • Support professional development through clinical education and training initiatives.
