Requirements

  • Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from an accredited dental school.
  • Current, active dental license within the state the clinic is located.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a licensed Dentist.
  • Proficient in the use of dental software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Proficient in use of email and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, and support staff.
  • Compassion and understanding towards patients, creating a positive and supportive dental experience.
  • Ability to lead and work collaboratively within a dental treatment team, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex dental issues and treatment challenges.
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving patient needs, industry advancements, changes in treatment plans, and evolving dental technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient consultations, gathering medical histories, assessing and diagnosing oral health conditions.
  • Utilize radiographs and clinical exam to develop comprehensive treatment plans based on diagnostic evaluations and patient needs, ensuring effective care coordination with medical providers as needed.
  • Perform a range of dental procedures, including exams, triage, fillings, crowns, complete and partial dentures, extractions, root canals, and biopsies with precision and efficiency.
  • Diagnose and treat periodontal conditions, collaborating with dental hygienists to address gum disease.
  • Educate patients on oral health, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions for optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, treatment notes, and adherence to electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Collaborate with dental hygienists, dental assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Provide training to dental clinical support staff as needed to improve procedure outcomes.
  • Maintain licensure according to state regulations, including appropriate CE geared toward the Vivent Health Patient population.
  • Must pass internal credentialing process and maintain this status throughout employment.
  • Adhere to all agency policies, including Confidentiality, Employee Handbook, Health Care Corporate Compliance Plan, Standards of Conduct, and other relevant policies.
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to the local dental team, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards established in the Dental Clinic Manual.
  • Leads daily huddles to help ensure flow of clinic and address any scheduling issues
  • Help to monitor and evaluate the quality of dental services, implementing measures to maintain and enhance clinical excellence under direction of Dental Director and or local VP.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and professional development opportunities for Dental Staff in their clinic, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within Vivent Health to ensure programs are working together successfully for comprehensive patient care in the Medical Home.
  • Contribute to enforcing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry and licensure regulations and standards.
  • Review and assess clinical protocols, helping the Dental Director to ensure they align with evidence-based practices and the latest advancements in dentistry.
  • Serves as Radiation Officer for the Dental Clinic and any other compliance positions specified as needed per the local regulating agency.
  • Monitors license and BLS expiration dates for local Dental Clinic providers and helps schedule trainings as needed for certifications and equipment.
  • Participate in community outreach programs and partnerships to promote oral health awareness and education.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Dental Services to manage the budget for the dental department, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Participate in hiring of new Dental Staff and contribute to performance appraisals of existing staff.
