About The Position

The Lead Custodian is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the custodial team to ensure all residential, public, and administrative areas are clean, safe, and inviting. This role combines hands-on cleaning duties with leadership responsibilities, ensuring high standards of quality, teamwork, and service excellence throughout the community.

Requirements

• Experience: 1–2 years of custodial, housekeeping, or maintenance experience—preferably in a residential or hospitality setting.
• Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
• Technical: Ability to safely operate custodial equipment and follow safety and sanitation procedures.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (heavier items with assistance or equipment).
• Extended standing, bending, walking, pushing, and pulling required.
• Comfortable climbing ladders up to 6–8 feet.
• May occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicals, odors, or unsanitary conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee daily cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance of residential and public spaces.
• Ensure restrooms, lobbies, and high-traffic areas remain clean and restocked throughout the day.
• Assign daily tasks, inspect work, and maintain cleaning standards for the custodial team.
• Train and support team members in cleaning methods, safety, and proper equipment use.
• Monitor inventory and maintain adequate stock of cleaning supplies and materials.
• Assist with setup and breakdown for community events and special functions.
• Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly to management.
• Promote the community’s hospitality and wellness culture in all interactions.
