Position Overview We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Lead Custodian to support daily cleaning operations and help ensure that all areas of the facility meet quality and safety standards. This role is great for individuals with cleaning experience, a solid work ethic, and the ability to take initiative. Areas Serviced This position helps maintain the following: General offices & private offices Lobbies & lounges Kitchens / break rooms Coffee areas Washrooms & restrooms Stairways & corridors Computer rooms Conference rooms Mailrooms All common areas Additional notes: No entry into security access areas unless preapproved Schools may include hallways and classrooms
Requirements
- Previous custodial, housekeeping, or general labor experience is helpful but not required
- Ability to follow basic instructions and work independently
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Comfortable using a personal cell phone for clocking in/out
- Ability to communicate clearly with the Project Manager and team members
- Willingness to learn cleaning procedures, safety practices, and equipment use
- Ability to maintain a steady work pace throughout the shift
- Friendly and professional attitude with staff and building occupants
- Follow all safety guidelines provided by the company and facility
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) when needed
- Report any unsafe conditions or equipment issues right away
- Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals according to SDS information
- Stay aware of surroundings to avoid slips, trips, or falls
- Standing or walking for most of the shift
- Bending, reaching, or kneeling as needed
- Lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 40 lbs
- Using cleaning tools and equipment (mops, vacuums, floor machines)
- Performing repetitive tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping surfaces
- A personal cell phone is required for clocking in and out each day using our mobile timekeeping system
Responsibilities
- Assist with all regular custodial duties, including filling in during staff absences
- Complete daily/evening quality checks of the areas serviced
- Perform floor care and other specialized cleaning tasks as needed
- Monitor and maintain cleaning supply inventory
- Ensure proper care and upkeep of cleaning equipment
- Help train new custodial team members
- Work closely with the Project Manager to coordinate tasks
- Contribute to a safe, clean, and positive work environment
