About The Position

The Lead Culinary Supervisor supports the culinary leadership team in preparing, executing, and overseeing high-volume food production for events at Spectrum. This role is ideal for a motivated cook with leadership potential, strong culinary skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality and consistency in a fast-paced environment. You'll assist in supervising line staff, maintaining kitchen standards, and ensuring smooth back-of-house operations during games, concerts, and other large-scale events. Key Responsibilities: • Assist the Sous Chef/Executive Sous and Executive Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations• Lead and support the culinary team during food prep, service, and breakdown for arena events• Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to arena standards and event-specific menus• Help supervise and train line cooks, prep cooks, and temporary event staff• Monitor food quality, portion control, and consistency• Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards (e.g., ServSafe protocols)• Maintain organization and cleanliness of kitchen stations and storage areas• Assist with inventory control, ordering, and waste reduction efforts• Step into leadership roles in the absence of the Sous Chef• Collaborate with front-of-house and concessions teams to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a high-volume kitchen or event-based food operation
  • Culinary degree or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
  • Strong knife skills and familiarity with multiple cooking techniques
  • Ability to multitask and lead under pressure
  • ServSafe or other food safety certification preferred
  • Effective communication and leadership skills
  • Flexible schedule – must be available evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event calendar
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary degree or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
  • ServSafe or other food safety certification preferred
