Summary: Culinary Supervisor, you are responsible of supporting the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine in a busy resort kitchen consistently delivering high-quality food. Handles required food ordering and food inventories. Supervises culinary staff.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience cooking in a high-quality restaurant or full-service hotel/resort
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to effectively supervise staff

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a kitchen supervisory role preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine
  • Handles required food ordering and food inventories
  • Supervises culinary staff
  • Plays a role in the mentoring and development of the culinary and stewarding staff
  • Takes care of daily food preparation and duties assigned by the Chefs to meet the standard of quality
  • Follows the instructions and recommendations from the immediate Chef de Cuisine to complete the daily tasks
  • Able to estimate the daily production needs, food order and food production pars are followed
  • Ensure that the production, preparation, and presentation of food are always of the highest quality
  • Ensure highest levels of guest satisfaction, quality, operating and food costs on an ongoing basis
  • Knowledge of all standard procedures and policies pertaining to food preparation, receiving, storage and sanitation
  • Full understanding of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production and presentation standards
  • Follows good food preservation standards for the proper handling of all food products at the right temperature
  • Operate and maintain all department equipment and reporting malfunctioning
  • Ensure effective communication between staff by maintaining a safe and friendly working environment
  • Establishing and maintaining effective inter-departmental working relationships
