About The Position

As part of the Marketing & Communications team, the Lead Creative Co-op (Lead Co-op) contributes to a variety of creative/conceptual projects that support enrollment and development goals. The co-op exhibits strong self-initiative, creativity, decision-making skills and technical abilities related to design, branding, generating ideas, and creative conception. Led by a former Brand President from Procter & Gamble, the Marketing team is constantly learning, growing, and innovating and wants to hire a student looking to do the same. This position requires regular consultation with members of the Marketing & Communications team and frequent work with other members of the campus community and third-party vendors. The Lead Co-op will support the Assistant Director of Creative Services with: Projects curated to challenge the Lead Co-op and facilitate growth as a designer and communicator. Execution of projects that may include design of flyers, brochures, postcards, social media graphics, web graphics, stationery, and more as assigned. Experience with rich media & animations is a plus but not required for this role. Tasks of design, production, project planning, tools management, time management, and brand and photography management. Research necessary for current or future graphics/production projects. Production and post-production management of projects and billing. Meetings with vendors under the direction of the assistant director of creative services as time permits. Of the Lead Co-op’s weekly workload, about 75 percent will be spent on design and production, and 25 percent on client meetings, communication, and meetings on University Marketing Strategy. This position requires regular consultation with members of the University Communications team and frequent work with campus clients and third-party vendors. Requirements

  • Must be enrolled at Mount St. Joseph University, and majoring in graphic design, preferably with a minor or concentration in marketing, communication studies, photography, or related field.
  • Must have completed the Co-op prerequisite courses and be enrolled in, or auditing, a co-op course.
  • Must possess advanced skills in graphics/production software and technologies, including Adobe Creative Suite—particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Must possess advanced knowledge and use of PC platform.
  • Must exhibit professionalism, organizational skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess multi-tasking skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple project deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional preference will be given to third-year, fourth-year, or graduate students.
  • Extra consideration will be given to students with experience with generative AI tools, photography, motion graphics, and/or a working knowledge of Lightroom.
  • Experience with rich media & animations is a plus but not required for this role.
