About The Position

The Lead Crater is responsible for overseeing the crating and packaging of products to ensure safe, secure, and damage-free transportation. This role leads daily crating operations, ensures quality standards are met, and provides guidance and support to team members.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in crating, logistics, carpentry, or a related field.
- Ability to read tape measures and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification).
Nice To Haves
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily crating operations and workflow.
- Construct custom crates using wood and other materials to protect products during transport.
- Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and shipping specifications.
- Ensure all crated items meet company quality and safety standards.
- Train and mentor team members on proper crating techniques and equipment use.
- Inspect completed crates for structural integrity and compliance.
- Maintain inventory of crating materials and notify management of supply needs.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, nail guns, saws, and forklifts safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with shipping and logistics teams to meet deadlines.
