About The Position

Come join Team Atlantis! We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join the culinary team. As the Lead Cook, you will play a vital role in overseeing the cuisine and ensuring the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation. Your expertise in cooking techniques, flavors, and ingredients will be instrumental in delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests at Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Cook, with a deep understanding of various cooking techniques, flavors, and ingredients.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory abilities to manage a team effectively and ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.
  • Ability to develop innovative and unique dishes while maintaining authenticity.
  • Keen eye for detail in food presentation, ensuring dishes are visually appealing and appetizing.
  • Efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks to meet the demanding requirements.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with team members and guests effectively.
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands, work under pressure, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and practices, including HACCP principles, to ensure compliance in a high-volume setting.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Must adhere to all appearance standards, including but not limited to no "visible" tattoos/piercings or unnatural hair and nail colors.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present a diverse range of dishes while maintaining consistency and excellence in taste.
  • Collaborate with the executive chef and management to create and update the menu, introducing new dishes, flavors, and seasonal variations that align with the resort's culinary vision.
  • Lead and manage a team of cooks and kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to standardized recipes, portion sizes, and maintaining high-quality output.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and the proper use of kitchen equipment, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Assist in inventory control, ensuring optimal stock levels of ingredients, spices, and supplies. Monitor food costs and minimize waste through efficient utilization.
  • Maintain and enforce strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper food handling, storage, and cleanliness of the kitchen area.
  • Conduct regular inspections of food preparation and presentation to uphold high standards of quality and taste consistency. Address any issues promptly and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
  • Foster effective communication and coordination with other kitchen sections to ensure seamless operation and timely delivery of food items.
  • Stay up-to-date with culinary trends, explore new ingredients and cooking techniques.
  • Other duties as assigned my management.
