About The Position

A Lead Controls Engineer is responsible for working within a project team to provide controls engineering hardware and software knowledge & direction to the organization through review, design, and communication. A Lead Controls Engineer leads, mentors, and distributes workflow to the controls department consisting of the Controls Engineers. Our goal is not to meet expectations. Our goal is to exceed expectations and ensure our customers receive exceptional experience at Invio Automation.

  • Four-year degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical) or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum (6) years experience of working with controls or programming robotics is required.
  • Non-degreed applicants should have at least (10) years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Passion for growth and the desire to lead the day to day operations of the plant
  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff goals by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Responsible for monitoring employee performance and attendance, also approval or denial of PTO and expenses for Operations employees
  • Proactive behavior, taking initiative, seeking continuous improvement
  • Work cross functionally with all departments during all phases of the project.
  • Leads the engineering, programming, integration, and commissioning of the following: PLC logic, servo motion and HMI displays utilizing applicable software
  • Robotic systems (most common robotic brands include Fanuc, Kuka, Motoman, Universal Robotics, etc.)
  • Vision systems to perform part recognition, part position, robot guidance, and quality inspections (most common vision systems used are Fanuc 2D and 3D iR Vision, Keyence, and Cognex)
  • Safety circuits and controllers
  • Works with the Director of Engineering to create training and development processes for entry level engineers and technicians
  • Must be able to travel within the continental US.
  • All other tasks and projects as assigned by leadership
  • Other duties as assigned.
