About The Position

NetGain Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Lead Consulting Engineer to serve as a trusted technical advisor for our managed services clients. This role combines strategic consulting, proactive technology planning, and high-level technical leadership to help clients improve performance, reduce risk, and align their IT environments with best practices. This is not a ticket-chasing role. We are looking for someone who can step into client environments, assess the bigger picture, build practical roadmaps, guide technical standards, and partner across teams to deliver exceptional service. The right person is equally comfortable advising clients, solving complex technical problems, and helping drive consistency across environments.

Requirements

  • Strong consulting mindset with the ability to connect technical recommendations to business outcomes
  • Experience leading client-facing technical discussions with confidence and professionalism
  • Deep technical troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, systems, and client environments
  • Ability to balance proactive strategic work with reactive technical escalation support
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through on deadlines, deliverables, and documentation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Commitment to standards, best practices, and continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in managed services, consulting services, or client-facing IT engineering roles
  • Experience performing technical audits, environment reviews, and roadmap development
  • Strong background in infrastructure, systems administration, and technical escalation handling
  • Experience supporting multiple clients in a fast-paced service environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead technical consultant for assigned client accounts
  • Conduct onsite and remote client reviews, audits, and technology assessments
  • Build strategic IT roadmaps aligned to client business needs, risk reduction, and operational maturity
  • Provide budgetary guidance tied to roadmap recommendations and lifecycle planning
  • Identify gaps in infrastructure, security, documentation, and best practice alignment
  • Support complex technical escalations both remotely and onsite when needed
  • Partner with service, projects, and leadership teams to design and implement effective client solutions
  • Play a key role in onboarding new clients and establishing strong technical foundations
  • Develop, maintain, and improve standards and best practices across assigned accounts
  • Ensure client documentation is accurate, complete, and maintained to NetGain standards
  • Help clients understand how technology decisions impact their business operations
  • Reinforce proper support channels and help drive issues through the NetGain Helpdesk process
