About The Position

This position is needed to join our Enterprise Application Development and Operations team as lead application Engineer. As a lead application engineer, this role is expected to architect, design, develop, configure, test and support the Zuora applications involving Billing, AR and Revenue systems that support all the key business processes involving Finance, quote, Billing, AR, Revenue, & Accounting teams. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, have a solid analytical mindset, excellent interpersonal communications, diligent time management skills, be team-oriented and have a strong work ethic. Lastly you work well under pressure to meet ongoing and overlapping deadlines within short time constraints. This role is expected to be an SME in Zuora Subscriptions, Billing, AR, Zuora Revenue, product and pricing config, and Cash application processes integrated with multiple upstream usage systems and downstream systems. Able to understand and manage Twilio’s entire Q2C landscape in partnership with the Global Accounting and billing teams to drive system integration, reporting, automations and innovation. You will gather requirements, plan, architect, design, configure, develop and test the billing, cash and revenue processes in Zuora. You need to have an end- end understanding of Twilio’s multiple billings platforms and build scalable systems for Acquisitions, Work on enhancements and key compliance related projects.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Customer master data management, Product and pricing configuration and integrations with multiple external systems for creating the data in Zuora billing and Revenue.
  • Strong knowledge of Zuora subscriptions, billing, product and pricing management, Zuora revenue (ASC 606).
  • Must have knowledge on integrations around Zuora with Salesforce, Oracle ERP, Banks, Payment Gateways, and Avalara tax.
  • Good understanding of the Zuora platform, objects, Custom events and Zuora workflows.
  • Knowledge on developing and executing system conversion and implementations.
  • Good understanding of Customer aging, AR to GL reconciliation and month end processes
  • Should have a good knowledge of change management, Agile methodologies.
  • B.Tech or an MBA graduate.

Responsibilities

  • Own the functional architecture for Zuora Revenue within the Q2C ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration with Zuora Billing, Oracle ERP (AR/GL), CPQ, and reporting platforms.
  • Design compliant revenue recognition solutions supporting subscriptions, usage, multi-element arrangements, SSP allocations, contract modifications, and bundled offerings.
  • Serve as the functional authority on ASC 606, ensuring alignment with accounting policies, SOX controls, audit requirements, and internal governance standards.
  • Lead revenue design workshops with Accounting, Controllership, FP&A, and auditors to define end-to-end accounting scenarios and system configurations.
  • Translate complex contractual and pricing constructs into scalable Zuora Revenue configurations, including allocations, re-allocations, variable consideration, and contract assets/liabilities.
  • Drive system implementations, conversions, and acquisitions onboarding while ensuring continuity of reporting, historical data integrity, and audit traceability.
  • Influence executive-level decisions through structured analysis, clear articulation of accounting impacts, and confident navigation of ambiguity.
  • Govern upstream and downstream revenue data flows across Billing, CPQ, ERP, and data platforms to ensure accurate contract ingestion and accounting events.
  • Implement strong reconciliation frameworks across Billing → Revenue → ERP GL to ensure financial integrity and audit readiness.
  • Champion automation of revenue schedules, journal postings, re-allocations, and reporting to reduce manual intervention and operational risk.
  • Partner with Accounting to support month-end and quarter-end close, revenue analytics, deferred revenue rollforwards, and disclosure reporting.
  • Enable scalable reporting for waterfalls, backlog, contract balances, and revenue KPIs.
  • Ensure system configurations support compliant revenue recognition and timely financial reporting.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Finance, Accounting, IT, and Business leaders on revenue systems strategy and compliance.
  • Lead cross-functional revenue initiatives across teams and vendors while balancing strategic priorities with operational stability.
  • Mentor and strengthen internal revenue system capability, reducing reliance on external partners.
