Mercy Health Lead CT Tech – West Hospital Job Summary: The Lead CT Technologist leads the associates working in their department. They will utilize scanning equipment to produce diagnostic CT scans and provide treatment of patients.

Requirements

  • BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care) (required)
  • Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) (required)
  • 1 year of experience as a CT or Rad Tech (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's from an ARRT accredited institute (preferred)
  • Advanced modality registration in CT, ARRT (preferred, or must obtain within 1 year)
  • State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
  • Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates leadership behavior to maintain proper staffing levels and assigns call.
  • Maintains accreditation and regulatory compliance of CT department.
  • Confirms the quality and accuracy of all pertinent patient and procedural data.
  • Properly position and immobilize patients on CT scanning cradles
  • Makes radiation exposures by energizing scanner per request and patient history.
  • Performs intravenous injections and demonstrates a knowledge of IVs, administers oral, rectal, and IV radiographic contracts agents.
  • Assists the radiologist with biopsies and drainage procedures.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all CT IT systems, including Radiant and PACS.
