About The Position

UPMC Corporate is hiring a Lead Marketing Communications Specialist to join our Clinical Marketing Communications department as part of the Regional Hospital team and support our marketing strategies and tactical plans to increase awareness of UPMC clinical services, regional hospitals, and providers. Note: This is a hybrid role based at UPMC Hamot with two in-office days a week (Tuesdays and one additional day). Some travel will be required. This position’s primary focus will be to support the hospitals, services, and providers included in but not limited to UPMC’s Northwest and Southwest Regions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, health sciences, or a related field
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a marketing/communications position or related field.
  • Must have excellent communication, multitasking, organizational, research/interviewing, writing, grammar, and interpersonal skills and knowledge of traditional and digital marketing best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Clinical Marketing leadership and teams to develop marketing strategies and plans for clinical marketing tactics to grow volume, increase UPMC brand awareness, and more.
  • Serve as Marketing Communications liaison to UPMC hospital management, leaders of clinical and non-clinical departments/programs, support services, and committees as needed, providing consultation, planning development, and strategic communications.
  • Demonstrate service-oriented behavior in interactions with clients and co-workers.
  • Manage projects of increased complexity, sensitivity, or importance to UPMC.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize projects appropriately.
  • Manage the development and production of UPMC Marketing Communications projects, including print collateral, videos, digital content, and community outreach activities.
  • Independently plan, research, and write copy that is creative, well organized, concise, stylistically appropriate to the audience and purpose, and conforming to UPMC tone and style rules.
  • Implement brand standards across all marketing projects.
  • Coordinate the work of contributing Marketing Communications staff, support services, and freelancers for graphic design, editing, production processes, printing, and distribution/delivery of projects.
  • Complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Provide guidance to communications specialists and summer associates on marketing projects and processes.
