About The Position

The Lead Commodity Specialist (Commercial Contract & Quoting Lead) manages procure to pay processes across direct materials, indirect materials and logistics for North America. The role drives efficiency, standardization, and compliance across procurement activities while partnering cross-functionally with Category Managers, site operational teams, and key supplier partners. This position has an elevated focus on process optimization, automation, and digital excellence, leveraging AI-enabled tools, advanced analytics, and workflow automation to streamline procure-to-pay workflows, reduce cycle time, elevate data quality and improve decision-making across the supply chain. Please note that this role requires onsite presence five days per week, Monday through Friday Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Requirements

  • 5+ years Material Management with negotiation experience (Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain, or Customer Service)
  • Strong analytical skills, familiarity with SAP and complex data analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong negotiation, decision and influencing skills
  • Highly motivated and energetic
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Adept at Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Experience in MRO purchasing and/or selling in Manufacturing environment
  • Experience with SAP, Ariba, or similar ERP system

Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement processes for direct and indirect material coded items, ensuring accurate and timely execution.
  • Serve as Commercial Contract & Quoting Lead for all MRO stockroom items, delivering productivity and cost-avoidance results.
  • Execute vendor selection, contract negotiation, and implementation through the strategic sourcing process; actively manage vendor contracts and drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee PIR/SL/QA contract and master data administration
  • Execute supplier pricing mass uploads accurately and on schedule.
  • Manage transactional consignment across assigned suppliers.
  • Oversee VIM processing for material-coded items.
  • Perform purchasing activities complaint with MPM policies and procedures and adhere to all SOX reporting standards.
  • Support AI-based Mass Sourcing of Sole-Source Materials initiative.
  • Maintain relationships with P2P teams (local site buyers), business analysts, and other commodity managers.
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization across procurement workflows.
  • Support digitization, automation, guided buying, and data accuracy initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers and execute with urgency.
  • Participate in cross-training aligned with development toward future Commodity Manager roles.
