Grow Here. " POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a Commodity Settlement Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for maintain rail, truck, direct truck, and FOB truck sales records.

Requirements

  • Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year technical school; or one or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours (early mornings, nights, and weekends) as needed, depending on train schedules.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • English Proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates loading instructions and rail car data between the department and location personnel.
  • Creates and audits grain shipment records, including loaded weights, grades, freight, and contract applications.
  • Maintains auditable grain sales records according to company established procedures.
  • Prepares electronic bills of ladings and transmits to BNSF, RCPE & DSRC or other railroads as required. Such duties may require the billing of rail cars at night and on weekends.
  • Pays freight bills on both truck and rail shipments.
  • Reviews and pays railroad invoices (including secondary railroads) for overloads, diversions, and miscellaneous billing.
  • Invoices and submits documents and grain samples to grain companies for payment.
  • Settles grain sales; audits contract pricings, calculates grain sales premiums and discounts, and freight allowances/deductions.
  • Utilizes the company cash grain system to capture data and files paper documents for audits.
  • Prepares monthly reports for freight and other grain accounts and prepares Journal Entries for the company Profit and Loss statement.
  • Balances and audits various General Ledger accounts monthly.
  • Processes shuttle/COTS for Agtegra shipments.
  • Process sales and purchase orders for shuttle/COTS trades.
  • Compares Agtegra prepared invoices and settlements to customer and vendor documents to check for variances and remedy if warranted.
  • Other duties as assigned.
