Position Summary The Lead Service Technician role requires collaboration with Project Managers, Service Coordinators, and Customers. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise across multiple HVAC systems, a well-rounded skill set, and excellent customer service skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or HVAC-related degree preferred.
  • Journeyman License required; Master License preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC service experience, including startup and maintenance across multiple HVAC brands.
  • Strong electrical knowledge: Chiller, cooling tower, hydronics, VRF, boilers, and airside systems.
  • Combustion analysis and burner tuning expertise.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, handheld computing devices, and HVAC software.
  • Works safely and efficiently — safety is the top priority.
  • Customer service excellence — great with people.
  • Sales acumen — ability to identify service and maintenance opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with team members to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as required.
  • Ability to lift up-to-50 lbs. regularly and 75lbs frequently.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and mechanical inspections to ensure peak performance.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and startup of newly installed HVAC equipment.
  • Follow proper procedures and complete all required documentation accurately.
  • Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective repairs or upgrades.
  • Interpret engineering drawings for system layout and operation.
  • Represent the company professionally with customers, contractors, and other trades.
  • Advise customers on preventive maintenance, CFM optimization, and corrective actions.
  • Recommend additional services beneficial to the customer.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Submit paperwork to Service Coordinators in a timely manner.
  • Work safely and adhere to all company and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Follow directives from Field Supervisor and Service Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
