Responsibilities The Lead Clinician is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care activities as directed by the Clinical Director, and assist in the management functions at the facility. This includes but not limited to supporting and reinforcing company-wide initiatives such as innovative technologies and promotes clinical efficiency for best practices.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related human services field.
  • Independently licensed in the State of practice required in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health counselor or other behavioral health related fields.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ of work experience in mental health field required.
  • Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication & Written skills.
  • Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality laws.
  • Knowledge of licensing and accreditation standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in electronic medical records utilizing HeatherAI
  • Proficient in documenting medical standards per ASAM and Locus criteria.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Clinical Director in developing effective clinical programming and ensures staff compliance to the curriculum.
  • Assists Clinical Director with proficiently auditing and completing documentation within required timeframes to ensure compliance to company policy, state regulations, Joint Commission standards and Medical Needs Criteria.
  • Uses substance abuse and co-occurring therapeutic interventions and de-escalation techniques to assist patients with accomplishing all treatment plans goals and objectives and successfully complete treatment.
  • Assists Clinical Director with regularly monitoring group therapy sessions to ensure quality programming is delivered and to ensure compliance to the program curriculum.
  • Assesses patient for substance use disorders, risk to self or others and co-occurring mental health disorders.
  • Effectively provides group therapy.
  • Effectively provides caseload management. 80% caseload expectation; cover caseload and group assignments from clinical team members.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to clinicians.
  • Review and sign off on documentation as directed by Clinical Director.
  • Participate in crisis intervention with patients as needed.
  • Participate with multidisciplinary team as needed.
  • Assists Clinical Director to ensure unplanned discharges remain below 15% by analyzing data and developing and implementing effective reduction plans.
  • Actively participates in Denial Prevention Meetings identifying ways the clinical team can improve clinical documentation to reach facility goal of 3% or less denials.
  • Assists Clinical Director with meeting with all employees at least bi-monthly to provide feedback on documentation and therapeutic performance and to provide guidance and coaching as needed.
  • Assists Clinical Director to effectively monitor staff’s performance, providing coaching and discipline as needed to ensure peak performance.
  • Consistently identifies areas for improvement within the department by analyzing data and developing, implementing and documenting plans for improvement and outcomes.
  • Effectively leads Daily Flash Meetings in the absence of the Clinical Director or Assistant Clinical Director.
  • Effectively leads Clinical Staff Meetings in the absence of the Clinical Director or Assistant Clinical Director.
  • Assists the Clinical Director to recruit and hire clinical team members.
  • Maintains positive relationships with all staff.
  • Creates a positive environment for staff.
  • Provides a safe and therapeutic environment to all staff and patients.
  • Participates in administrative duties to include but not limited to group scheduling, service time, auditing assigned by Clinical Director.
  • Performs other tasks, as assigned.
