As a key member of our Clinical Admissions team, the Lead Clinical Admissions Therapist plays a pivotal role in ensuring that every patient and family member feels supported throughout the admissions process. In this position, you will oversee the facilitation of admissions for at-risk youth, guiding them through their journey toward personalized care. This role is dynamic and multifaceted, acting as the first point of contact for potential patients. Your interactions will directly impact the success of our mission to expand access to high-quality mental health care. You will help to build rapport with families, assess clinical needs, and ensure a seamless, compassionate admissions experience. Additionally, you will support a team of Clinical Admissions Therapists and Associates, providing leadership, supervision, and guidance to enhance team performance and clinical excellence. As the Lead Clinical Admissions Therapist, you will be expected to meet performance metrics related to admission rates, patient satisfaction, and time-to-admission. You'll also ensure the team adheres to strict documentation and compliance standards, driving continuous improvement across the department. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in behavioral health admissions
  • Independent licensure in a mental health discipline (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LPCC, etc.)
  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related behavioral health field
  • Experience working with children, adolescent, and adult populations preferred
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage operational details in a fluid environment
  • Proven ability to motivate, lead, and communicate effectively across all levels of an organization
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the team and patients.
  • Must be able to work in the evenings until 6pm MT and weekends as needed to accommodate event programming.
  • Work authorized in the United States and native or bilingual English proficiency
  • Familiarity with and willingness to use cloud-based communication software—Google Suite, Slack, Zoom, Dropbox, Salesforce–in addition to EMR and survey software on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in weekly leadership meetings to identify barriers and implement team-level solutions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Product and Design, Growth Strategy, and Care Strategy teams to refine assessment tools and workflows.
  • Partner with Learning & Development to support onboarding and continuing education initiatives.
  • Facilitate focus groups and team-building efforts that foster professional growth and organizational alignment.
  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision to a team of Clinical Admissions Therapists and Associates.
  • Performance-manage members in achieving key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Conduct monthly chart audits to ensure documentation quality, compliance, and fidelity to clinical standards.
  • Deliver biannual performance reviews and provide ongoing performance feedback.
  • Conduct HIPAA-compliant virtual biopsychosocial assessments for clients presenting with a range of mental health concerns.
  • Build rapport with clients through compassionate, inclusive, and professional communication.
  • Assess clinical appropriateness for Charlie Health’s virtual intensive outpatient program (vIOP).
  • Coordinate with crisis teams or escalate to higher levels of care as needed during the assessment process.
  • Develop provisional diagnoses using DSM-5 criteria.
  • Assign clients to appropriate therapists, group schedules, and cohorts based on clinical fit and needs.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant documentation using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Work cross-functionally with Admissions Coordinators, Utilization Review, Clinical Teams, and Referral Sources to streamline the admissions experience.

  • The total target base compensation for this role will be between $66,000 and $80,000 per year at the commencement of employment. In addition to base compensation, this role offers a target performance-based bonus. The target total cash compensation range, including potential bonus, will be between $73,000 and $88,000 per year. Please note, pay will be determined on an individualized basis and will be impacted by location, experience, expertise, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Further, cash compensation is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may include stock options and other Charlie Health-sponsored benefits.
