About The Position

Working under the direction of the Admissions Manager, the Admissions Shift Lead's goal is to guide the Admissions team to successfully deliver unique, memorable, and rewarding experiences to all our guests. Lead by example. Coach and motivate staff to provide the best possible guest experience, to maximize sales opportunities and to ensure secondary spend targets are achieved. Recommend short-term and long-term changes through feedback, daily reports and proposals. Work with the Admissions Manager to develop staff incentives to increase individual motivation and promote teamwork. Monitor performance in achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Mystery Visit targets. Assist with the training and supervising of team members. Ensure all team members are trained in resolving guest concerns, up selling, and providing accurate attraction information. Adopt an enthusiastic, assertive and passionate approach to guest service, and demonstrate the Merlin Values at every opportunity. Ensure all areas of Admissions, including lobby, guest restrooms, elevators, animal displays, and point of sale are ready for attraction opening and that the areas are maintained in a clean and tidy manner throughout the day. Responsibility to ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Security within the workplace.

Requirements

  • A natural team leader with confidence, assertiveness and approachability.

  • Strong drive for Guest Service excellence.
  • Payment processing experience.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and motivational skills.
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multi-task as necessary.
  • Desire to work with the general public in a fast-paced, often loud, environment.
  • Standing and walking for long periods of time, often engaging in repetitive tasks and conversations.
  • Availability to work up to 40 hours per week including weekends, holidays, and Spring Break.
  • Occasionally lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Willing to work in an indoor environment with temperatures ranging from cool to warm.
  • Ability to use various cleaning supplies and chemicals daily.
  • At least 16 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1-2 years supervisory experience in the service, tourism, or entertainment industry is preferred but not required.
