The Lead Child Care Teacher demonstrates positive teaching practices, maintains professionalism and leadership skills, and fosters an effective learning and safe environment. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required
  • Infant Toddler Safe Sleep (ITS-SIDS) certification required
  • 1 year of responsible classroom experience in a professional large Child Care Center required
  • Knowledge of physical, intellectual, emotional, and social characteristics of children ages birth-five years old and up to 12 years old for Weekend Care
  • Knowledge of State Child Care regulations

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a positive parent-teacher relationship
  • Interacts appropriately with children
  • Maintains Learning Centers
  • Maintains a warm, inviting child friendly classroom environment
  • Plans and implements Educational programs and daily activities
  • Establishes a weekly schedule and lesson plan
  • Promotes each child's social, emotional, intellectual and physical development
  • Provides a clean, safe and healthy work environment
  • Maintains accurate records
  • Documents children's progress and completes all State required documents
  • Provides instruction for Teachers
  • Manages children's behavior
  • Comply with the provisions of the Child Maltreatment Reporting Act by bringing any suspected cases of child maltreatment to Director or Co-Director for possible reporting to the designated reporting agency
  • Other duties as assigned
