We are looking for a skilled Lead Certification Engineer to join our team in Huntington Beach, CA. This is an on-site position based in Huntington Beach, CA. JOB SUMMARY The Lead Certification Engineer is responsible for developing and executing certification programs to demonstrate compliance to regulatory and OEM requirements, leading programs and guiding other certification engineers. This role determines specific certification requirements from FAA and customer documentation. They will participate in the development of new products and technical proposals in order to enable the company to capture new and additional business, as well as participate in the preparation and presentation of Design Reviews. The Lead Certification Engineer directs the evaluation and approval of repair procedures and should possess the motivation to complete projects on time and represent the company's core values.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelors degree in engineering or similar technical discipline is required.
  • Experience: 6+ years of direct experience
  • Level III: 7+ years of engineering experience.
  • Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, self-motivation, a sense of urgency and sensitivity to deadlines, and detail oriented.?
  • Operational knowledge of all certification test equipment.?
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and the ability to analyze, regulatory requirements and advisory materials
  • Technical writing ability.?
  • Knowledge of FAA (Part 21 and Part 25) and Boeing/Airbus requirements.?
  • Ability to communicate and present both orally and written.?
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a broader team.?
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.?
  • Detailed knowledge of TSO processes and general FAA regulations.?
  • Detailed knowledge of dynamic, static, and flammability testing processes and procedures.?
  • Must show proof of ability to work in the United States.?

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Skills/Experience: AutoCAD and/or CATIA V5 familiarity.?
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.?
  • May be asked to work extended or irregular hours as required.?

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review/check certification test plans and reports ensuring compliance to regulatory and OEM requirements.?
  • Communicate with project team members to identify scope of work, schedule, design details, quotes, risks, and other pertinent factors impacting certification.?
  • Oversee and assist as necessary with test article build and conformity and testing.?
  • Review prototype designs and drawings; identify and communicate necessary changes.
  • Identify potential certification issues and any adverse impact; communicate any certification related information to supervisor and impacted disciplines.
  • Analyze problems and derive appropriate solutions.?
  • Develop tools, as necessary, to track deliverables, testing, compliance findings, to assure on-time completion of certification tasks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date certification records.?
  • May interface with airlines, OEMs, FAA, and suppliers to ensure project timeline is achieved.?
  • Act as subject matter expert for certification issues in a variety of areas, including flammability, dynamic and static testing, design compliance, and aircraft installation and integration.
  • Develop internal best practices.?
  • Monitor latest industry issues and documents; communicate information to applicable team members.
  • Represent company at customer, industry or other required meetings.?
  • Lead other certification engineers on one or more projects.
  • Maintain a safe, secure and legal work environment, adhering to all Company policies and procedures. Protect the confidentiality of the Companys information and products. Contribute to team efforts by performing other job-related duties and projects as assigned or requested.
