About The Position

Lead Carpenter / Working Project Lead Interior Remodeling • Year-Round Work Are you a top-tier carpenter who knows how to run a job—but is tired of running a business? If you’ve owned your own company or worked as a lead handyman or remodeler, you already know the grind: bidding jobs at night, chasing materials, dealing with accounting, marketing, sales calls, and never really being “off the clock.” This role is different. We handle the business. You build. About the Role This is a working Lead Carpenter position—you’ll be on the tools most of the day while leading a small crew (typically a 2-person team). You’re responsible for executing the plan, directing your helper, and communicating progress. The schedule, materials, customers, billing, and back-office work are handled by our company. Most projects are interior remodels, primarily bathroom renovations focused on safety, accessibility, and aging in place—steady, meaningful work that stays busy year-round.

Requirements

  • Strong residential construction experience
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, framing, finishes, and general remodeling
  • Ability to lead a crew and make sound on-site decisions
  • Clear communication and accountability
  • Honesty is non-negotiable
  • Tools: You must have your own core tools. Specialty tools and vehicle are provided.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute interior remodeling projects from start to finish
  • Perform hands-on carpentry daily (framing, drywall, flooring, trim, showers, vanities, paint, etc.)
  • Direct and mentor your helper on job tasks
  • Communicate job progress (on schedule / ahead / behind)
  • Identify unforeseen conditions and coordinate change orders when needed
  • Maintain high standards for quality, cleanliness, and professionalism
  • Occasionally meet inspectors when permits are required (with PM support)
