Post End Date: February 22, 2026 at 11:59 PM This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the Part-Time Contract Positions (Employee Group) This is a part-time work opportunity for Brock University students currently studying full time in either an undergraduate or graduate program. Preference will be given to undergraduate students entering 3rd / 4th year and graduate students in Fall 2026. As the Lead Career Navigator, you will play a key role in providing high-quality frontline service and support to students exploring career development opportunities as well as ongoing support to the Career Navigator Team. This position combines peer-to-peer mentoring, resource advising, and administrative responsibilities while contributing to the overall success of Co-op, Career & Experiential Education (CCEE) programming.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with diverse student populations.
  • Confident in delivering presentations and facilitating small group discussions.
  • Demonstrated ability to actively listen, ask clarifying questions, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proactive, reliable, and detail-oriented, particularly when collecting and presenting statistical data.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering quality customer service and upholding professional standards while handling inquiries and providing feedback.
  • Brock University student (preferably in 3rd/4th year or a Graduate Student in Fall 2026) in good academic standing
  • Previous experience in career development or peer mentoring.
  • Strong understanding of career development resources and interest in career development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to visitors of Career Education in-person, virtually, and at Career-on-the-Go mobile unit locations and events.
  • Engage in peer-to-peer career conversations with students and provide support on career exploration, job search strategies, and post-graduate planning via email, walk-ins, ad-hoc appointments, and scheduled Career Education workshops.
  • Educate students on CCEE resources, programs, and services, and make appropriate referrals to other campus departments or community supports.
  • Use active listening and probing questions to understand student needs and triage complex inquiries to professional staff as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the Career Navigator team providing support and mentorship to the team, where needed, leading team meetings and monitoring progression in training modules.
  • Support the Career Education TDS (Talent Development Specialist) Team by contributing to program delivery, providing follow-up communications, and assisting with resource development.
  • Assist in the collection, analysis, and presentation of service usage data, compiling daily statistics and customer feedback to inform service improvements and decision-making.
  • Deliver presentations or informational sessions related to career topics, services, and events.
  • Contribute to team projects including promotional campaigns, resource creation, digital content, and career events.
  • Actively organize and participate in weekly team meetings and share ideas to enhance services and outreach.
  • Maintain the professional appearance and organization of the Career Education physical space when on-site.
  • Perform all other administrative or service-related duties as assigned.
