About The Position

Sweetgreen is in a high-growth phase, expanding into new markets while strengthening compliance frameworks across our 280+ restaurant footprint. We're seeking an experienced Lead WFM Systems Analyst to serve as the technical architect for our workforce management technology ecosystem, providing the technical foundation that enables our Operations team to drive labor optimization and field execution. In this role, you'll be the technical steward of our workforce management platform, which integrates WFM with HRIS, Payroll, and downstream systems supporting 6,000+ team members. You'll own the technical architecture, system configuration, platform integrations, and vendor relationships while partnering closely with our people, Legal, and Operations Services - Workforce Management teams. This role combines deep technical expertise with cross-functional collaboration and technical leadership.

Requirements

  • 6+ years hands-on Legion WFM or similar enterprise WFM platform experience (UKG Pro WFM, Workday Time, ADP Workforce Management)
  • Proven technical leadership, including architecture design, platform implementation, or system modernization initiatives
  • Deep configuration expertise: scheduling logic, compliance rules, workflow automation, permissions, and API integration
  • Integration architecture experience: API troubleshooting, middleware platforms (Workato preferred), ETL processes, data validation
  • Multi-jurisdiction compliance knowledge: Fair Workweek laws, meal/rest breaks, reporting time pay, predictability pay
  • Advanced data analysis capabilities
  • Ability to mentor analysts and translate complex technical concepts for business audiences
  • Strong vendor management experience, including technical business reviews, escalations, and negotiations
  • Excellent technical documentation and communication skills
  • Collaborative partnership approach with Operations, Finance, Legal, and People teams
  • A technical problem-solver who balances long-term architecture with immediate operational needs
  • Self-directed and proactive in identifying technical optimization opportunities
  • Detail-oriented with a systematic troubleshooting approach

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical architecture, integration health, and platform reliability of the WFM ecosystem, including HRIS, Payroll, and downstream applications
  • Design and maintain system security, data governance, and integration patterns, ensuring data integrity and system performance
  • Lead technical incident response and platform monitoring, proactively identifying optimization opportunities and resolving critical issues
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, integration specifications, and troubleshooting runbooks
  • Configure complex scheduling rules, compliance engines, timeclock policies, and role-based permissions supporting multi-state regulatory requirements (Fair Workweek, meal/rest breaks, reporting time pay)
  • Translate business requirements and regulatory mandates from Operations, Legal, and People teams into technical system configuration
  • Lead technical readiness for new market expansions, establishing jurisdiction-specific configuration templates and compliance frameworks
  • Manage the technical roadmap in partnership with the Operations Services team, evaluating and prioritizing enhancement requests, assessing technical feasibility, and coordinating implementation
  • Lead change advisory board for WFM systems, evaluating requests for technical feasibility, data integrity impact, integration dependencies, and alignment with platform roadmap
  • Own the technical vendor relationship, serving as primary contact for platform issues, enhancement requests, technical escalations, seasonal releases, and quarterly business reviews
  • Participate in vendor user community and technical advisory boards to stay current on platform innovations and industry best practices
  • Mentor Workforce Management Analysts on complex configuration, integration, troubleshooting, and technical best practices
  • Review and approve analyst work products, including configuration changes, integration mappings, and technical documentation
  • Conduct technical training on system functionality and platform features for administrators and power users
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues, providing expert-level problem-solving and root cause analysis
  • Build and maintain technical reporting infrastructure, data pipelines, and system-generated reports supporting People, Operations and Finance teams
  • Provide technical consultation for business program launches, validating system configuration and ensuring technical readiness
  • Develop automated monitoring and alerting for platform health, integration failures, and compliance exposures
