About The Position

The Lead Business Strategy role at AT&T is responsible for shaping and advancing strategic initiatives that drive business growth. This involves providing rigorous market research, competitive analysis, financial modeling, and strategic insights to senior leadership. The position develops business plans and evaluates new opportunities through a strong understanding of business economics, income statements, and balance sheets, translating complex analyses into clear, executive-ready recommendations. Working closely with leaders, business units, and functional teams, the role ensures alignment, builds support for initiatives, and delivers high-quality presentations to inform decision-making. The role also provides ongoing competitive intelligence and supports transaction-related analyses and negotiations, operating with significant autonomy as a recognized expert who leads complex initiatives and influences enterprise-level strategy. This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in strategy, transformation, consulting, or corporate strategy roles
  • Enterprise transformation, corporate strategy, or top-tier consulting background
  • Ownership of multi-function initiatives presented to VP/SVP-level leaders
  • Direct involvement in business cases, investment analysis, or operating model changes
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired.
  • 5+ years of related experience.

  • Enterprise strategy & structured problem solving – Ability to frame ambiguous problems and translate strategy into executable initiatives.
  • Strong financial acumen – Fluency in P&L, business cases, and financial modeling to ground decisions in impact.
  • Transformation execution – Experience driving cross-functional, cross-segment initiatives across people, process, and technology.
  • Executive communication & influence – Clear synthesis, executive-ready storytelling, and influence without authority.
  • External perspective – Market, competitive, and industry awareness; transaction exposure is a plus.
