About The Position

Tri-National, Inc., a fast-growing, truck load carrier located in St. Charles, MO, is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Accounting Department as the Lead Billing Specialist. This position is in direct support to the Billing Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the Billing/Accounting Department. A minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory/lead role are required. Candidates with previous experience in the trucking industry or collections and billing department are preferred.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in supervisory role
Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and skills
Highly motivated, self-starter, detail oriented and assertive
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Willingness to be a team player - doing whatever is necessary to get the job done
Strong organization skills

Nice To Haves

Billing department experience preferred
AS/400 knowledge, a plus
Trucking industry experience preferred
BS/BA preferred

Responsibilities

Conduct on the job training for new hires & on-going training for billing staff
Train & mentor billing staff
Complete complex billing for specific accounts and submit detailed reports to customers
Review the billing variance at the end of each day to identify billing errors before submission to customers
Monitor workflows & identify inefficiencies
Work with the Accounting team to research non-payment issues and short pays
Research past-due customer balances and contact customers regarding payment
Generate weekly Billing reports to submit to management
Prepare for and attend, weekly Accounts Receivable meetings with management
Respond to customer inquiries
Any other duties assigned by management
