Now Hiring a Lead Behavioral Health Technician for our Detox and Residential treatment facility in Cambridge, MD! This shift is from 11am-7pm.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety is required.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Warm, empathetic personality with ability to set firm boundaries
  • Dignified, honest character which models recovery principles

Nice To Haves

  • Valid driver's license and CPR certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Client‑Centered & Recovery‑Focused Creates a compassionate, supportive environment that promotes recovery. Models healthy behaviors and ensures client needs are observed, supported, and communicated promptly.
  • Strong Leadership & Team Development Mentors and guides BHT staff, promotes teamwork, ensures protocols are followed, and provides support during crises or high‑risk situations.
  • Effective Communication Skills Communicates clearly and consistently with staff and leadership. Documents key information promptly and escalates urgent issues in real time.
  • High Integrity & Accountability Demonstrates honesty, reliability, and ethical behavior. Maintains confidentiality and adherence to organizational, state, and federal standards.
  • Operational Awareness & Process Improvement Mindset Ensures BHT operations (medication observation, rounds, shift reporting, intakes, room checks) run smoothly. Identifies areas for improvement and follows through on operational needs.
  • Strong Observational & Critical‑Thinking Skills Recognizes client behaviors, safety concerns, and environmental risks. Responds appropriately to crises, emergencies, or situations requiring de‑escalation.
  • Adaptability & Cultural Sensitivity Adjusts well to rapidly changing needs and displays cultural awareness and respect for diverse populations.
  • Policy Enforcement & Safety Focus Maintains a safe environment by enforcing policies and facility rules while balancing structure with a positive client experience.
  • Administrative Competence Completes documentation accurately, manages inventory, supports scheduling, and assists with front‑desk or administrative duties when needed.
  • Flexibility & Scheduling Reliability Able to work flexible hours-including some evenings, overnights, or weekends-based on supervisory needs and responsibilities.
