About The Position

The Bar Lead is responsible for delivering exceptional performance in their role, embodying Ranch core values, and upholding the standards set for Forbes Five-Star Properties and members of Relais & Chateaux. This position provides leadership and support to the bar team to ensure the efficient and high-quality operation of the bar. Through expertly crafted beverages and exceptional guest experiences, the Bar Lead contributes directly to the property’s reputation for excellence.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a bartender in a high-volume or luxury establishment; at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol) required.
  • Strong knowledge of mixology, spirits, wines, and craft beers.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, and reach overhead.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by business needs.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment with potential for slippery surfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily bar operations; ensures smooth service and adherence to opening and closing procedures.
  • Prepares and serves a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of all menu items including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
  • Provides guidance, training, and support to bar staff; fosters a positive and productive work environment.
  • Monitors inventory levels of bar supplies, spirits, wines, and beers; assists with ordering and stock rotation.
  • Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding alcohol service including age verification.
  • Handles guest inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally; resolves issues to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the bar area including equipment, glassware, and storage.
  • Accurately processes guest orders and payments using the POS system.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager.
