About The Position

The Lead Bartender oversees daily bar operations, staff management, and ensures exceptional guest service while maintaining high standards of beverage quality. This leadership role requires strong communication, mixology skills, and a passion for creating a fun, enjoyable atmosphere for both staff and guests.

Requirements

  • Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and courtesy.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and eligible to work in the United States.
  • Clean criminal background check.
  • Must be fluent in English. Additional languages are desirable.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and wear a uniform.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and communicate effectively with guests and staff.
  • Basic math skills required for financial transactions and inventory management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to use computers and other office equipment.
  • Ability to adjust focus and perform tasks requiring close and distant vision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hospitality or ski resort settings is desirable.
  • Prior experience in a bar or hospitality setting preferred.
  • Ski resort experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support bartenders and barbacks, providing training and performance feedback.
  • Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring smooth workflows, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensure guests receive prompt, professional, and friendly service. Handle complaints or issues with a positive approach.
  • Maintain high standards of drink preparation and presentation. Ensure adherence to recipes and quality expectations.
  • Manage bar inventory, including ordering, tracking usage, and conducting stock checks to ensure sufficient supplies.
  • Ensure adherence to state and local laws regarding alcohol service, including ID checks and managing intoxicated guests.
  • Provide ongoing staff training in beverage preparation, customer service, and safety procedures.
  • Work with the F&B Manager to implement promotional strategies, such as specialty cocktails or happy hours.
  • Oversee cash handling, including balancing cash drawers and processing payments accurately.
  • Ensure the bar is clean and well-maintained. Coordinate with maintenance and cleaning staff when needed.
  • Assist in planning and executing special events, private parties, and other activities.
