About The Position

The Lead Barista is a working shift leader who leads with energy , sets a positive tone on every shift, and supports the manager team in daily execution. You'll model hospitality, keep the team focused, and help the floor run smoothly during peak hours.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of barista experience; prior shift lead/lead barista experience preferred.
  • Strong espresso skills (dial-in, calibration, milk texturing, latte art).
  • Confident communicator with a guest-first, high-energy presence.
  • Organized, reliable, and calm under pressure; holds self and others to standard.
  • Availability: early mornings and weekends required; consistent attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Shift Support & Team Energy Set the tone at lineup; keep the team high-energy, focused, and guest-first throughout the rush.
  • Help deploy the team, manage breaks, and communicate priorities for the shift.
  • Handle basic guest recovery and escalate issues to ACM/CM when needed.
  • Training & Development Onboard and coach baristas in real time; reinforce recipes, service steps, and upselling.
  • Give clear, constructive feedback; recognize great performance and maintain standards.
  • Operations & Standards Complete opening/closing to standard; ensure side work and cleanliness checklists are done.
  • Track par levels; assist with light ordering and waste/temperature logs.
  • Submit maintenance tickets and keep equipment clean and cared for.
  • Bar Leadership & Quality Dial in espresso and calibrate grinders; maintain recipe standards across the day.
  • Lead by example on the bar; manage flow, call tickets, and pace the team during rushes.
  • QC drinks and pastry plating; coach technique (milk, espresso, latte art).
