About The Position

The Lead Assistant Coach provides support to the Head Coach in all aspects of developing and maintaining a competitive NCAA Division I sports program. Responsibilities include assisting with recruiting and scouting prospective student-athletes, coaching and developing players, coordinating team travel, managing aspects of program administration, participating in fundraising activities, and performing other duties as assigned by the Head Coach. The Lead Assistant Coach fosters positive relationships with student-athletes, colleagues, university staff, alumni, and the broader community. A commitment to NCAA, conference, and university rules compliance, as well as the academic success of student-athletes, is essential. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and university rules and regulations
  • Dedication to the full academic development of student-athletes

  • Strong administrative skills

  • Experience within the NCAA Division 1 as a coach, practice partner, and/or student-athlete
