Position Highlights 📍 Region: Voorhees, New Jersey (multi-site coverage) 🕒 Full-Time Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM EST 🚗 Travel: Potential weekly travel required — coverage assigned as needed We are seeking an Area Lead – Health Information Services to support a 10-site client portfolio within the Voorhees, NJ market. This role is responsible for ensuring operational continuity, service excellence, and compliance across multiple locations. The Area Lead will be stationed daily at a designated home site , but must be flexible to travel to one of five full-service ROI client locations as needed for coverage, training, PTO support, or unexpected call-outs. The remaining five sites are serviced remotely from the staffed locations. All sites operate in cubicle-based environments shared with client staff .

  • Confident working independently while supporting a broader team
  • Experienced with ROI and EMR systems ( required )
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to work on-site daily in Voorhees, NJ
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally on a weekly basis as needed
  • Proficiency with computers, email systems, and standard office equipment
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Prior healthcare, medical office, HIM, or ROI experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced in leading, mentoring, or supporting HIS staff (preferred)
  • Motivated to grow within a healthcare or medical records environment
  • Supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site coverage at assigned client locations as operational needs arise
  • Support 10 total sites, including 5 full-service on-site ROI locations and 5 remotely supported sites
  • Serve as a key point of contact between client staff and company leadership
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring Health Information Services (HIS) staff
  • Communicate staffing needs, coverage gaps, fluctuating volumes, and site challenges proactively
  • Support workflow optimization, productivity initiatives, and service-quality improvements
  • Accurately process medical record and ROI requests while maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Manage high-volume inbound and outbound calls from patients, providers, and requestors
  • Provide request status updates, resolve routine inquiries, and escalate complex issues appropriately
  • Handle fax, mail, and electronic request workflows, including logging, routing, and tracking
  • Review and date-stamp incoming requests and upload documentation into HealthSource
  • Monitor shared drives, fax queues, and medical records email inboxes for timely processing
  • Create encrypted CDs/DVDs of patient records and maintain proper chain-of-custody documentation
  • Assist walk-in patients requesting records by verifying identity and processing disclosures
  • Monitor and complete patient transfers throughout the workday
  • Ensure full compliance with HIPAA, privacy regulations, and client-specific policies
  • Uphold company and client codes of conduct at all supported locations
  • Maintain working knowledge of site-specific systems, workflows, and facility requirements
  • Help minimize operational risk and ensure coverage continuity across the market
